Paris Hilton and Her Love of Video Games

Listen, I was just as surprised as you are right now.

While scrolling around on social media, I saw photos of celebrities playing PS2s and Gamecube and I was inspired. I thought it would be good fun to revisit a simpler time when game console launches were A THING. The industry would grab anyone famous and have them at the party. A few of these folks are who you would expect like Elijah Wood or Jack Black and then there are people like Paris Hilton.

Now, as a 35 year old man, Hilton had a huge impact on television and pop culture in the mid 00s. You couldn’t escape her. At the height of reality TV and the swan song of MTV’s years, good ol’ Hilton was seemingly on every station (not really but you know what I mean).

In my research to find fun photos of celebrities with video games (especially during that era), one person kept popping up over and over. It was her.

At first I thought it was just part of the cultural zeitgeist to have her involved but photo after photo proved that Hilton genuinely looks to be into video games. Further investigation paints a picture of Hilton enjoying video games and actively looking to be part of game development.

I needed a minute after looking all this up but let me show you photos of Hilton in action. Also please excuse the quality of the photos - it was a barbaric time for photo quality.

One could be like yeah, these corporations were using her for branding and paying her to show up but ALSO I think Paris wanted to be here and all the info recently points to the fact that she likes video games.

Paris is actively involved with ROBLOX and the Hilton brand there. She also worked with Metaverse for a VR game. These are not VIDEO GAMES in the eyes of…gamers but they are video games for a casual audience and I find that kinda cool.

I don’t know how I feel about Paris as a person because I do not know her but I can say she’s cool for spending her unlimited time and money of fun projects. Also I think she is secretly a dork which is endearing.
