How many of these books are there anyway? Have you signed up for a decades long project of just complete weirdness?

I have committed to at least 5 years. I am the architect of my own prison.

Sounds like you've morphed into something you can't get out of.

The stranglehold these books had on me as a tween. Your last post had me this close to buying a box set. I was working at the school book fair and was hoping to see something.

nice! so Scholastic tried reprinting them with new covers for the first several but sales were lackluster and they didn't pursue. The only way to get them is thrifting really.

They did start graphic novels versions which are cool but not quite like these books.

big market! Scholastic has tons - I work for Hachette and we have the fewest in the market, I think. Middle Grade is struggling in publishing right now. And YA readers are just reading adult books now which I think is great but publishers don't know what to do!

My about to be 7 year old has just started chapter books and reading them at quite a clip. She is coming to save the YA industry. Can’t wait to introduce her to Animorphs!

HELL YEA! Get her indoctrinated!

Crazy how Animorphs were just normal kid fare back in the mid 90s. I never thought they were strange at all, and now, nearly 30 years removed... wow!

Thanks for uncovering and sharing the madness!

it’s wild how insane these books are compared to middle grade lit now.
